This is Roxanne's story
I have been married to my husband for 25 years. I have eight kids, ages 11 to 30 years old. We have adopted a sibling set of four beautiful girls to add to our clan of two girls and two boys. We have recently made the big leap of moving from California to NW Arkansas.
Prior to our move, I had worn many hats, I worked as a successful Real Estate Agent for the last 9 years, I was a Program Director for the WOMEN'S COUNCIL OF REALTORS. I was a CASA volunteer (Court Appointed Special Advocate) with San Bernardino County. I worked very closely with a wonderful organization, Today's Woman Foundation. T.W.F works to empower a diverse community of women through education, advocacy, and resources to enhance body, mind, and spirit. My role for the foundation was as a speaker, to encourage women with backgrounds of addiction, homelessness and domestic violence, that they can overcome and turn their lives around, it was a message of HOPE.
I am able to draw from that hope because that was my story, I am an overcomer. Since moving to Arkansas, I have slowed my life down considerably. I spend most of my time caring for the four remaining children in my home, the oldest with behavioral issues, and several diagnoses stemming from pre-adoption trauma. For the rest of my time, I am writing a book, and I hope to have released it by the end of the year.
